International Dolls

The college that I'm attending is heavily missions oriented, so I'm considering making dolls dressed in traditional clothing from other countries. If you have any good pictures of international clothing that really give a good picture of the style, feel free to leave a link, because I need something to base the dolls from.

Christmas wedding dolls

For Christmas, I made my mom and her two sisters sets of dolls that represented their weddings.
I regret to say that I forgot to take pictures of all three wedding sets once I had completed them, but here are a few "in progress" pictures.

This is all I have from my one Aunt's set, but here is a candlestick. :D the base is a small spindle from Hobby Lobby. The candles are air-drying clay, and the flat base to hold the candles is simply a flat bit of wood hot-glued to the spindle. The beads and rhinestones are from Hobby Lobby.

This is my other Aunt's wedding. (minus the groom and groomsmen)

They each had different candlesticks, and hers were like this! (you can see both candle holders in the above picture.)
This was my Mom's set. This is the bride from the back. Mom had a real-flower wreath on her head, so I used ribbon roses and green beads for the doll.

. . . and her candlestick. :)

Narnia

For my younger cousins for Christmas, I made them Narnia dolls.

She didn't need a tag. :)
I didn't know how in the world to make a lion, so I bought one at Barnes and Nobel.

Ideas

I'm working on a project with dolls and I'm using hot glue for it. (so what?) Well, when you turn on the hot glue gun, it slowly drips out these little drops of hot glue, which in turn harden into hard drops of hot glue. Now, these little drops look sort of like flasks, so I think I'll make a Mad Scientist (I just have to capitalize that!) and the hard glue drops will be the flasks he's working with. I'll make him with hair that stands on end and with a nice pair of glasses. Should be fun . . .

(I can't tell what the project is until Christmas in case certain people happen to visit this blog before then . . . )

Graduation dolls (and then some)

These are more of the dolls I've made.
This was one I did for my open house after graduation. She went with the quiz display by a picture of my season quiz team, SWAT (Saints With A Testimony).
This one went the the music display.
The violin was made by my awesome amazing Grandpa Heter. He's a woodworking magician!

This doll stood by the welcome table and guest book with a jar of pens for signing.

This doll is one I did for a little girl for her birthday. She's horse crazy so her mom asked me to make her a cowgirl. (I would have put boots on her, but I have no idea how!) :)

Next . . .

Here are some of the few that I will be making for my graduation this year.

The cook (since I like baking!)

And the graduate! (the gown was harder than I thought it was going to be!)

A potential profit . . .

I am thinking about trying to sell some of the dolls that I make. I'm just wondering, would anyone buy them? And if so, where would I sell them?
